TACP Membership

(i) Occupations of the members of the Association.

Professionals in Clinical Psychology: M.Phil., Ph.D. in Clinical & Gen. Psy. and Psy.D

(ii) Membership of the Association.

(a) Eligibility - Based on the qualifications prescribed as per Clause 2(g) for various types of

members (Professional, Associate, Fellow, Honorary, and Corporate Members).

(b) Admission - On fulfilling the criteria for qualification, any individual willing to become a

Member, shall:

(i) Move an application to the General Secretary in a prescribed form.

(ii) His name shall be proposed by two other existing members of Association.

(iii) He shall pay prescribed Annual/Life subscription fee

(iv) On fulfilling all formalities, the Governing Body shall consider his membership.

(v) On approval, his name will be numbered in the Enrollment Register. And from the date of

receipt of enrolment number his membership comes into effect.

(c) Withdrawal -

(i) An individual may withdraw his application in writing before approval.

(ii) One who is already a member may withdraw by tendering resignation by mentioning

reasons to the President or General Secretary who shall approve after getting a “No-Dues”

clearance from the treasurer.

(d) Termination -

The membership may be terminated on the following grounds:

(i) On the death of the Member

(ii) On a date of payment of subscription fee for more than two years.

(iii) The member indulged in any other profession than Clinical Psychology for more than 3

years period.

(iv) When the member deliberately violates the By-laws of TACP or acts against the aims

and objectives of the Association.

(e) Reinstatement

If the member is willing to re-join the Association can be reinstated

(i) After clearing the dues towards membership fee or any other due.

(ii) A member who diverted from the profession, declares and actively starts working in the

field of Mental health on a full-time basis.

(f) Decisions on Membership:

All decisions with regard to Termination, Reinstatement or other category of the Membership

shall be taken by the Executive Committee

(i) By giving prior notice to such member with reasons for termination

(ii) He shall be given a chance to explain his contention in writing.

(iii) This decision on his termination shall be informed to all other members in writing.

(g) Categories of Membership & Fee Structure

There are five categories of membership for the TACP, that are further bifurcated as Annual

and Life Members with the following criteria and fee structure

1. Professional Membership: -

(i) Resident of Telangana State for at least 10 years.

(ii) Qualified as M. Phil in Clinical Psychology, Ph.D in Clinical Psychology or General

Psychology and Psy.D. in Clinical Psychology (Registered with RCI).

(i) Currently working in Telangana as a Clinical Psychologist.

2. Associate Membership: -

(i) Individual, who are P.G. Diploma in Clinical. Psychology.

(ii) Post-Graduation (M.A./M.Sc.) with specialization in Clinical Psychology/Health

Psychology/Counselling Psychology.

(iii) Post graduate diploma course or equivalent course in Clinical/Counselling Psychology.

(iv) Advanced qualification (after Master’s degree) in Rehabilitation Psychology.

3. Fellow membership: - Any Individual who is a Professional and life Member of the

Association for a minimum period of 2 years and engaged full time in the practice of Clinical

Psychology, Teaching or Research, shall be eligible for ‘Fellow Membership.’ His name is

proposed by majority of the professional members of the Association.

4. Honorary Membership: - Distinguished persons who have contributed to the

advancement of Clinical Psychology or any other faculty or who work in furtherance of Aims

and Objectives of the profession, his name may be proposed by the members of the

Association or from allied fields.

5. Corporate Membership: - Associations and Societies which are Registered in India, as

per Act XXI of 1860 or Societies Act of Telangana, and/or Clinical Setups/institutes / other

scientific bodies having common interest with the aims and objectives of the TACP shall be
